Princess of Utah

One of Jeremy and my all-time favorite movies is "Prince of Persia." We watched it as we lay dying on our bed last week. It may be cheesy, it may make no sense that JaGy is the hero, and it may make even less sense that his two "brothers" definitely didn't look like they were born on the same continent, and maybe even lesser sense that nobody suspected Ben Kingsley sooner, but it's a great movie. LOVE it. It's one of those I can watch repeatedly, and sincerely enjoy.

I also like Gemma Arterton. I've liked everything I have seen her do, so far.

Anyway, as a little girl, I wanted what most did: To grow up and be a beautiful movie star.

Okay, fine, I still want to grow up and be a beautiful movie star. Like her:
Gemma Arterton
I still get those, "Someday, when I grow up, I'll be Gemma Arterton," and then I sigh and hope that that day comes very soon.

I was feeling this way last week, and the credits rolled on the movie, and Jeremy wondered if there was going to be a sequel. So, we looked it up, and sure enough, there isn't going to be a sequel, but that's not what hit me up side the head.

Gemma is five years younger than me.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

So, my dreams of growing up to be Gemma dashed to pieces when I realized that I'm a 30-year-old house wife that isn't going to magically pop out of a Beautiful Movie Star chrysalis and star in the next "Prince of Persia." More likely, I'll crawl out from under a pile of pee-pee laundry looking like I always do:
Jeremy told me to stop making this face. It just gets such a good reaction I can't help but do it.
More along the lines of The Creepy Old Witch Lady in "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves."

Oh well.

Yeah.. I was just thinking about that today.. how I'm far too old now to be a gorgeous super star.. I'll have to settle for really intelligent massively successful writer.. :D

That drawing made me laugh. I make those faces at Tyler while he isn't looking and then wait for him to look and catch him off guard. It makes both of us laugh... keep making that face. He'll love it when you are 90!!
And just a fun little thought: I bet you are not only a princess in your kid's eyes, but a beautiful, all knowing, all powerful QUEEN!! You are wonderful Dara!!!!

Oh the realities of motherhood, huh? They tell us there are eternal blessings for our sacrifice. You can spend part of eternity being a movie star. Wouldn't that be fun?
