Love Bruises

I bruise like a banana.

Frequently, when I am getting ready to take a shower, I discover blue and green bruises all over my body (no, Jeremy isn't beating me; my general clumsiness is). And I ask that same old question: "Where did THAT come from??" And then my brain pipes up and reminds me of my collision with the desk, wall, chair, bed, dryer, couch....

What made me think of this was as I was holding my little Lily I noticed glittery lip prints on her forehead (what can I say? I never got over Bonne Bell lip gloss...). All too often, people are harsh with each other and leave marks for all the world to see, and I thought, wouldn't it be neat if we left love bruises, so to speak, but when you touched them you felt the kiss all over again?

My mind then thought of all those poor souls who aren't as lucky as I am who wouldn't have as many love bruises as I do.

But my heart replied that if we could physically see the love Heavenly Father feels towards us, all of us would be glowing from head to toe (Celestial lip gloss). Love is a great equalizer.

So, leave some love bruises today. And wear lots of lip gloss.

Wow Dara! You have such a wonderful look on life and think of the best things. I will try and leave more love bruises on my kids.
And by the way... love your new background!!
