Reboot

I think that the first computer ever built (and all of them ever after) were designed after the human brain. The ability to "reboot" isn't a new concept. Human beings, after all, need rebooting sometimes (or sometimes just booting) and after their central "program" no longer functions, they hop in bed and after 8 hours are semi-normal again.

My week started off bad. I don't know if I got a worm, or some sort of virus, or spyware or something, but man...(it's all Jeremy's fault *said fondly* but he remedied the situation by getting me a Banana Cream Pie). My system needed to reboot, but for some reason, the sleep I was getting (or WASN'T getting) wasn't doing it for me.

I went to bed last night with so much anxiety and heartbreak. I plead with Heavenly Father to fix me. I finally dropped off to sleep....and had horrible, horrible nightmares.

I woke up in a panic somewhere in the middle of the night and immediately began praying. I went and checked on my children to make sure they were safe. I crawled back in bed and squished as close to my sleeping husband as possible and kept on praying.

As I lay there, and the fear began to be whisked away by peace, I thanked God for scaring me out of my mind. It worked to cleanse my spirit, and to refocus my mind on what was most important.

As with a computer, as we go through life we collect things, experiences, ideas...cookies, if you will; sometimes on purpose, and sometimes not. It bogs us down and slows down our processors, and sometimes they can damage us. Thank goodness when we "crash" all isn't lost, and the greatest Programmer of them all can fix broken hearts and spirits.

I hate that panic in the middle of the night thing. I'm glad you were able to pray it away.

It's interesting to experience the way the Lord teaches us. Consider D&C 87 as a revelation on war then D&C 88 as a revelation on peace. Two complete opposites similar to the feelings you went through. Thank you for sharing this post. I love your style of writing!

I really like this! That's awesome that your feelings changed so drastically in the middle of the night. Thank goodness for praying!
