Be Happy

I have pregnancy induced depression. It is really, really annoying, and I will be SO happy when it goes away--and that will be in approximately 1 to 1 1/2 months. Blech...
The only thing that seems to lift my spirits is Christmas music. So, if you come by my house, and hear Burl Ives in the background, you will know why (I ordered some more Christmas CDs from Amazon--some for an amazing .94 cents!--and I am eagerly awaiting their arrival).

Despite the fact that I hate unseasonal snow (and by unseasonal I mean any snow that falls after Christmas Day), it has helped me feel a little more Christmasy in my heart.

I decided today that I needed to make some Chex Mix to help the Spirit of Christmas thrive in my home. I have never made it before.

I did what the instructions said, put it in the oven, and Jeremy said, "It smells weird."
Yeah...

It does...

Oh well.

When we were at Wal-Mart looking for all the ingredients, I asked an employee where I could find bagel chips, and she told me which aisle, and when we got there, there was pre-packaged chex mix. Jeremy looked at me and said,

"Why don't you just get that?"

*Glare*

"It's not the same!"

I was wanting to do it by hand because it had a Christmasy memory attached to it (although I think Mom only made it once because she said people were only picking out the nuts and that really aggravated her...Like when people would pick the topping off her strusel and leave the rest. I NEVER DID ANY OF THOSE THINGS, MOM! NEVER!)

So, we shall see how it goes. It doesn't smell like my memory. Maybe some memories should be left alone!

It was as recently as last week that I played a Christmas CD. I've played these CDs so much that all I have to do is THINK of them and I "hear" the music.

I decided years ago that Chex Mix was evil. LOL

I thought for a moment that you said you expect your depression to go away in 1 to 11/2 months... I couldn't figure out the 11/2... anyway.. I LOVE Christmas music! I'd listen to it more if it didn't aggravate Ben so much.
And, Mom... I never picked out just the nuts or the topping off the struesel. I'm sure I was tempted, but I had the fear of Mom in me and never dared do it.

I like Christmas too! Victor won't let me play it before Thanksgiving and after Christmas.

Oh well.

I hope you feel better soon. Not much else to say. One of the downsides of procreating.
