NEWS FLASH
I just got hit by a car. I am rather mad about it.
There I was cycling down the street with my family, when I was crossing the street, and WHAM!
Well, not really. The car was at a stop, and I thought "He sees me!" and I proceeded very slowly across the street, and he just rolled forward and smashed me and my bike together. He rolled down his window and asked "Are you alright?" and before I could stop myself and be polite I said "NO, I'M NOT ALRIGHT! YOU JUST HIT ME WITH YOUR CAR!" He didn't say anything, but just sort of looked at me blankly. He eventually managed an "I'm sorry" and all I could come up with was "Just look next time." As I was assessing myself for damage, a lady pulled up in a minivan and asked "Do you want to file a claim?" "No," I replied, but I am going to write a blog about this as soon as I get home, I thought.
The Loser in the car that hit me quietly drove off, hoping I wasn't looking, and left me and Jeremy standing in the middle of the road. Jeremy came over and gave me a hug and said "What do you want to do?" I responded glumly "Cry..." and I did. Some concerned witnesses came over to see if I was alright, and again, I couldn't manage to be the perfect street-hostess. I said I was alright, and they just stood there for a second, probably wondering what to do, and then finally gave up, waving their well-wishes to us as they wandered back to wherever they came from.
So, I have some doosies of bruises on my legs, and I am wondering if I should have filed a claim..oh well...I can always find out who the guy was since he lives in a cul-de-sac, or I could file a police report and identify the guy and have the whole state patrol after him...hehehe...my bike is fine too, and I am glad, since it was expensive...for me anyway. I mean, how exciting can a Costco bike really be? But still...
So to all of you drivers out there, WATCH OUT FOR NON-DESCRIPT PEOPLE LIKE ME!
I kinda wish I had had the wherewithal to hit his car really hard or ram into the car with my bike, or pick up my bike and throw it at him, or better yet! Yank him out of his car, force him on my bike and do the same thing to him! No...that really isn't nice. But I get the idea that he will probably not watch for bikers/pedestrians in the future. Well, maybe for the rest of today he will, and if that keeps one less person from getting hurt, that is okay with me.

I'm glad you're not broken.
About a year after that I discovered from the doctor that I had a slipped disk in my lower back and was told that I needed to get it fixed before I decided to have children.
I didn't get it fixed and after I had Evan I had to have physical therapy for 3 months; twice a week because I had thrown my back out and couldn't walk or pick up my newborn.
I am glad you are not broken. Sorry about the bruises.
Victor has been run over by a tractor if it makes you feel better.
