Blue, Sparkly, Crazy-Haired, Carpet-Cleaning Guardians of Card'hoole

I was soaring with masked owls and big, glittery blue amoeba-like blobs. One of the owls turned towards me and said,

"Dara, I need your help."

I was confused.

Need my help...for what...

He gave me a scathing look.

"Dara, I need your help!"

I was suddenly in my bed, in the pitch black. Jeremy was struggling with the many blankets on our bed, trying to escape, and I could hear Eva crying.

Uh oh...

Eva woke up early the previous morning crying...because she threw up.

And, I figured, gee, since children work in formulas, the crying plus the late hour plus my luck equaled at least a minor explosion on her bedroom carpet.

I wasn't disappointed.

Jeremy took our trembling little woman into the tub to hose her down, and I, of my own choice, started to clean up the coleslaw Eva had created. It took me .000000000001 seconds to realize I had chosen poorly...

After cleaning up the carpet as best I could, and stripping the bed down, Eva, newly cleaned and pajamaed, crawled into her bed while I made some last attempt to get the warm ranch smell out of the carpet.

"I like you hair, Mom!" She chirped. "It's all crazy!"

I'm afraid I don't have much of a sense of humor at midnight, so I made some snarky remark to my three-year-old that the reason my hair was crazy was because I was asleep.

She merely smiled and told me how pretty her new blankets were on her bed and how much she loved them. Gotta love her positive attitude.

That sounds familiar...
Amazing that she was still in a good mood! Audrey was in a foul mood for days! :)
