Just me and God
It was just me and God today,
As I stumbled along with my feet of clay,
The same old things I walked with yesterday,
Just Him and me, that way.
It is just me and God right now,
As I walk up that hill, past that brown-eyed cow,
and push with my might behind that old plow,
Just Him and me, just now.
It is just me and God as I cry,
Cracked, broken, and shattered, and whispering "why?"
And, all dried of tears, heave a troubled sigh,
Just Him and me, I cry.
It was just me and God as I slept,
My joys all rejoiced, my fears all been wept,
And into His arms I am carefully swept,
Just Him and me, I'm kept.
It was just me and God today,
Him there beside me, as I stumbled and swayed,
His arm around me, yesterday, tomorrow, today,
Just Him and Me today.
