Movie Review

Jeremy has been wanting to watch "Cloudy with a chance of meatballs." I gave him this face:

I'm sorry, it just didn't sound appealing. On Saturday, we went on a date to Albertson's (we don't like to go far) and decided to pick up a movie and treats. I gave in and we rented "Cloudy" (and "Four Christmases" but I won't even bother to review that movie since you can't say much about trash, except that it smells and you don't want it in the living room).

As the film began, I was thinking I might sneak off and play Bejeweled on Facebook while Jeremy watched it, slowly scootching my way across the couch by degrees. I didn't make it very far. The movie was AWESOME!

I am really picky when it comes to movies, especially kid movies. I haven't liked a kid movie since I saw "Kung Fu Panda," so it has been a while. And I liked "Cloudy with a chance of meatballs" better than "Panda."

So you have this quirky, young inventor who is trying to make his mark on the world, and, after several failed attempts (like with his infamous ratbirds), he accidentally does. It's a story about being who you are, and accepting others for who they are. Plus, it is hysterically funny. Jeremy and I would replay several parts and laugh ourselves silly! I think my favorite part was when the inventor's monkey and best friend, Steve, (who is outfitted with a monkey mind translator) is showered on by mustard and his translator screams out, "YELLOW!" Ha ha ha! Well, maybe you had to be there.

Anyway, WATCH IT! It's not just for kids. It's so versatile, and I think everyone would enjoy it.

You just liked it because it echoed your Lorna Doone story.. :D That's the first thing I thought of when I saw the previews.

I thought the same thing when we watched it.

I have a hard time with Kid movies and it takes me a while to warm up to them.

I also agree that 4 Christmas's was trash - it made me want to barf

I have a hard time sitting through kids movies--especially the animated kind. They make me sleepy. So it's good to know you liked this one. Maybe I'll give it a try.

I was wanting to see both of these movies so I'm glad I

1. Didn't waste my time renting "Four Christmases" and
2. Didn't wait another second before renting the other.

Thanks for the review!!
