Lemming

I am a lemming.

If all my friends jumped off a cliff, I would probably jump too, just so I wasn't missing out on what was going on at the bottom. Which, if you think about it, wouldn't be a whole lot. But you never know...

Everyone has been talking about hair cuts...

And I have been growing out my hair...

It finally reached my shoulders after YEARS of growing it out. Blah.

So

Today

I

Chopped

It

Off

I have to admit, I was a little disappointed. I had hoped a feeling of euphoria would overtake me, but it didn't...sigh...oh well. Maybe cutting hair doesn't release endorphins, but it should.

I did it myself. ("Doesn't Jane's hair look pretty? She did it herself!" Don't you love Emma?? My other favorite line: "Napkin, sorry!" OH, and another favorite line: "Your hair looks just like an angel's! ANGEL'S, MOTHER! Oh, and speaking of angels, Mr. Elton, your sermon on Daniel in the Lion's den left us speechless, quite speechless I tell you, and we haven't stopped talking of it since! Isn't this a lovely party? Lovely! Lovely, lovely!" I don't care what anyone says, Sophie Thompson is just as good an actress as her sister, Emma. Which makes me think of another movie, Persuasion: "I am so ill I can hardly speak...what if I should be seized in some dreadful way and not able to ring the bell??" Sigh...I would love to be in a Jane Austen book...anyway...I digress...)

What do you think? (Ooo! You can see my already pregnant stomach in that picture....joy...)

Cool! (...as in-- I think you will be glad when the suns heats us up again. Long hair is so uncomfortable in the heat.) Cute, too!

Thoroughly impressed that you could do it yourself and have it turn out so dang cute.

Also, feeling bad that we couldn't have spent some good high school years swooning over Jane Austen movies.

Here is another line from another famous movie: "Dang! Why didn't I cut my hair that short?" (Howie Mandell in "Who Moved the Razor?")

Yeah, I have to admit, Mom, when you asked me when I was going to cut my hair, it sort of sparked my twitchy scizzor-happy fingers...You know, Bethany, we will just have to have a "Pride and Prejudice" marathon one of these days....And, Dad, that sounds like something you just made up. :P LOL!

That is because I did make it up. I am "Insider" I have the scoop on all the hip things that are going on inside my own head.

fraphedu: A strange sort of hair style that involves several layers of very thin pancakes.

Cute hair! And Persuasion is my absolute favorite book of all time! I love Jane Austin in general...I just got done watching Emma, and watched Pride and Prejudice last week. I swoon over Mr Darcy!!!

I swoon over Captain Wentworth...sigh...And Mr. Knightly....And a little over Mr. Wickham, but that is just my bad side coming out. :P

Captain Wentworth is very nice... "I can listen no longer in silence. I must speak to you by such means as are within my reach. You pierce my soul. I am half agony, half hope. Tell me not that I am too late, that such precious feelings are gone forever. I offer myself to you again with a heart even more your own that when you almost broke it, eight years and a half ago. Dare not say that man forgets sooner than woman, that his love has an earlier death. I have loved none but you. Unjust I may have been, weak and resentful I have been, but never inconstant. You alone have brought me to Bath. For you alone, I think and plan. Have you not seen this? Can you fail to have understood my wishes? I had not waited even these ten days, could I have read your feelings, as I think you must have penetrated mine. I can hardly write. I am every instant hearing something which overpowers me. You sink your voice, but I can distinguish the tones of that voice when they would be lost on others. Too good, too excellent creature! You do us justice, indeed. You do believe that there is true attachment and constancy among men. Believe it to be most fervent, most undeviating, in F.W."

I was always so jealous that you could cut your hair and it would look so awesome.

I love it!

i don't dare cut mine... i would do a terrible job. My hair is now more than half way down my back. It grows like a weed.

The next scheduled cut is in August. I cut it once a year - unless something amazing comes up and I want to look spectacular - like a trip with Victor's boss and wife... :)
