Ray of Light
The past couple have days have sapped my funny juice, and I haven't been able to think of anything funny to write about.
Everything has seemed so sad sad sad...
So, Jeremy, being the concerned husband, offered to give me a blessing. I sort of sagged in bed under a pile of soggy tissues, and he said he would try "tomorrow" (yesterday).
Everything has seemed so sad sad sad...
Don't get me wrong, nothing has gone bad, it's just one of those times when everything (including folding towels) is too overwhelming and I just want it all to go away (and shove the laundry back into the dryer).
So, Jeremy, being the concerned husband, offered to give me a blessing. I sort of sagged in bed under a pile of soggy tissues, and he said he would try "tomorrow" (yesterday).
After a trying day (mostly because everything grates on my nerves), Jeremy and I waddled into our bedroom (we ate pizza, two orders of crazy bread, beef jerky, chips and nacho cheese, soda, and whatever else was within arms reach--what?! We were hungry!), and I shyly looked sideways at Jeremy and hinted about the blessing.
As I sat there, Jeremy turned off the fan.
"Hey! I like that!" I said, pouting a little.
Jeremy sighed.
"I can't hear myself think when it's on."
"You aren't supposed to think," I said tersely. "You are supposed to be a vessel conveying the will of God...like a straw."
My own statement made me laugh. Ah...a ray of light...
Afterwards, as we lay in the dark, we talked about life, God, and blessings.
"You are my own bendy straw," I said.
I am not sure if Jeremy appreciated my sentiment, but I did. "You are my own bendy straw," I said.
