Thanksgiving Poem

Thanksgiving is here

Bringing turkey, stuffing, and cheer

Pumpkin Pies and starry eyes

and fun times without peer!

But alas, we miss those not there

We hope they feel our care

We wish them love, sent from above

and memories to share.

Becky and Vic are on the road

Hauling their kids (they have a load!)

Driving fast, their behinds in the past,

As they're tearing up the road.

Jenny and Andy nestled tight

In their new house this wintry night

Waiting for guests, who are not pests,

and come without a fight!

Chris has symptoms of the flu

with "cough" and "wheeze" and an "ACHOO!"

We hope they come, (he's dad's first son!)

FEEL BETTER, CHRIS! WE ALL LOVE YOU!

David and his Debbie Lou

are out in Lone Star Country Zoo

We miss them all, please pay a call!

We also love you too!

Missy and Robert and all their gang

are coming to call (they felt the pang)

to play with cousins, they have dozens,

The chorus of Angels sang (sorry I couldn't think of a rhyme...)

Emily and Ben have flown their coop

to dine with us when Dad yells "SOUP!"

They play our games, and call us names

and Audrey has a little poop.

Mom, Dad and Granny are in muddle

they hide upstairs in a huddle

scared of noise, from girls and boys

and in their fear melt in a puddle.

Thanksgiving is a wonderful time

For food and love and my silly rhyme

I love you all, both big and small

and now I will go eat a lime...whatever.
