Obstinance

Obstinance....it runs in my family.

Yes...Joshua is stubborn...I am stubborn...Eva is learning to be stubborn...and Jeremy is the king of stubborn.
It's really sad. Each of us thinks that we are more stubborn than eachother, and none of us EVER gets our way.

Today, as I was off doing some churchly duties, Jeremy was manning the fort and there occured an accident. It really was no accident! What happened was just this! The wind began to switch the house to pitch And suddenly the hinges started to unhitch Just then the witch, to satisfy and itch Went flying on her broomstick thumbling for a hitch! Oh sorry...anyway, on our piano we have a stack of books from mom and dad (writen by mom and dad) and since they are pleasing to the eye (as well as the brain) I display them proudly for the world to see.

Next to the stack of books (which I alternate between standing on end and laying down) is a candle. This candle is in a glass jar and is sometimes lit, but not too often because it makes my head hurt. Anyway, previous to this candle was another candle... At the time that the other candle was there, the books were, as they are now, standing on their ends looking rather dashing, if I do say so myself.

As many of you know, dominos, when proped up on their ends and spaced appropriately, have a nice cascading effect that is most desireable...This "domino effect" has afflicted the books on my piano many, many times. You would think I would just stop doing it. Well...The first candle suffered the fate of crashing on to the floor and shattering into a million pieces. It's brother leapt from the piano and plummeted into a anti-climactic death this afternoon.

My first thought was "Dang it! I don't have another candle to put on the piano!" and then made a futile attempt at putting the books upright. The candle was holding them up you see. Sigh...So, undoubtedly I will scour my house for another glass jar candle to put on the precarious edge of death.
Stubborn, stubborn, stubborn. Oh well.

I love the picture of Jeremy as the wicked witch! Awesome! So, I feel like I haven't seen you for like...months...for some reason. I've read your blogs, but haven't seen you for a long time. Anyway, we need to hang out sometime. Maybe let the kiddos play together, or do a fun crafty project or something!!

Sounds good! Yeah, what with allergies turning into colds, conference, and visiting other wards, it has been forever! I wouldn't recommend getting the kids together for a little bit, though...Both Joshua and I have some mystery virus...blah... How are you, anyway!?

Obstinance, that's a word we use in our home a lot too!
