OUR STATE FAIR IS A GREAT STATE FAIR!

State fair, shmate fair...
TWO HOURS OF DIRT AND ANIMAL DOODLE!
It seriously felt like we had been there the whole two weeks the fair has been going on. And SERIOUSLY! If you have seen ONE PIG you HAVE seen them all. 
We walked here, and there, and sniffed some interesting smells 
and kept on walking, to get away from the interesting smells. The fear was if you stopped the smells would take form and start to dissolve your skin.

Jenn and family, and Grandma and family all went with us (even though, at one point all of us took off in different directions, 
but then miraculously ended up in the same spot...hmmm...)
but then miraculously ended up in the same spot...hmmm...) Joshua and Eva were okay, except they were hating sitting in the stroller, and Eva kept trying to pull herself out of her seat and touch the ground. I suppose when you only crawl being anywhere but on the ground is a little scary.
We did "Little Hands on the Farm" (FREE exhibit, thank goodness! $8 dollars for a giant yellow slide that only 
lasted 2.5 seconds and managed to scare the crap out
of me...grrr...)

I don't think I got a single shot of Joshua actually looking into the camera...Why is it that the sun has to be right behind me all the time??

I felt bad that Eva didn't get to go through and plant stuff, but I guess she probably would have ended up eating sand if I had let her.
Here they are! FUTURE FARMERS OF AMERICA!
The kids loved the animal exhibits. Joshua loved the bigger animals like sheep and cows, and Eva seemed to be partial to the 
fuzzy bunnies. Overall I think it was a great and exhausting
experience.We ended the day with icecream at
Thanksgiving Point.

I'm still fuming over some oil(?) paintings that flouted the rules by looking suspiciously like unmentionable body parts. I'm ALMOST mad enough to go back to the fair, find out the names of the paintings and artist and complain to the Fair Commissioner about it. "Family Event", HELLOOOO!
And did you ever think that you could just turn around so the sun wouldn't BE behind you?

I thought the pictures were cute. I feel a little guilty - when we go to the fair we go to the fair grounds in the morning to bring exhibits and before we leave we get our hands stamped so we don't have to pay anything. Food is expensive and generally not worth the price.
However, I will indulge in mini hot donuts with a supernova and will have one meal there during the 10 days - usually tri-tip sandwhiches... :)
Fairs are definitely an event for our family especially this last year with over 150 entries.
